After her memorable performance in April 2011 with her reinterpretation of Carol King’s Tapestry, Christine Tobin returns to Nottingham Contemporary with another sublime project, this time inspired by the poetry of W.B. Yeats. Tobin brings to life the lyrical magic of poetry in a euphonic and sensitive setting. The poems are chosen from Yeats’ early work through to his final collection, from love poems such as When You Are Old, to works that chart his desire to find a deeper spiritual truth, as in the epic Sailing To Byzantium, (the title of her latest album).

“…She has an uncanny ability to become a vehicle for the text of a poem in a way that would have sent a shiver of recognition through the great man himself. I've come to realize that it was only when I heard Christine Tobin sing these poems that I even began to understand them."  Paul Muldoon

Tickets available from Nottingham Contemporary or from the Bonington Theatre, Arnold on 0115 956 0733
